In response to the new Omicron Variant of COVID-19 virus, all GPs were instructed by NHS England on 17th December to cease some of the routine care work to allow maximum participation of all clinical and admin staff from GP surgeries to deliver COVID booster doses to all eligible 18 years + adults.
Staff at Avisford Medical Group has focused all efforts on delivering this crucial work and all resources continue to be used appropriately towards this goal.
However, we appreciate impact this is having on our patients and with this in mind, we are opening practice to restart routine care including chronic disease management. We will aim to prioritise patients who need our attention most as we look at "Recover and Restoration" work in General Practice on the lines of recommendations from NHS England and local Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups.
We would still urge you to not call us unless this is absolutely necessary. We are unable to chase your hospital appointments or expedite them for you.
We regret the changes and fully understand that this continues to inconvenience a large number of patients but we continue to evolve our clinical model in response to emerging changes in pandemic. Please bear with us. Further changes will be announced at the earliest as we are directed by NHS England but several restrictions are expected to last until the end of March 2022.
